Rhizophores localized in the lower third of the stem, up to 4 cm long, glabrous, pale streaked. Stems erect, up to 25 cm high by 2 mm in diameter, streaked pale pinkish; branches glabrous, diverging at 45 °, tripinnate, oval in outline. Leaves entirely heteromorphic; lateral leaves widely spaced on main stem, closer together on branches but neither contiguous nor imbricate, unequal, c.2.25 x 1 mm, subacute; axillary leaves slightly unequal, ovate, denticulate, c. 2.25 mm long; median leaves spaced apart on main stem, subcontiguous on branches, elliptical, ciliolate, awned, awn about 2/3 the length of blade. Strobili at the end of final branches, 2-6 x 2.5 mm; sporophylls heteromorphic, dorsal sporophylls oblong, green, subacute, serrulate at the top on the lower margin, ciliolate-serrulate on the upper margin, slightly decurrent at the base, ventral sporophylls hyalin, aristate ovate-acuminate, strongly ciliate.
